I like the second one too! ;)

Have you considered a brushed metal texture?
That and a spec map for a tiny bit of dirt might be nice as well.

Way cool. Thanks for sharing safarifx.

yeah cool @ all

my favorit is also the second one. i use the plug in "thinfilm" to shade the gradient from "the mask"...the last (version 4) >dirt metal variation is a simple
mirrore phototexture from old metal....

The thinfilm shader?....I always forget about the shaders, I spent too much time using Fprime before LW's GI caught up. I'll have to have a rummage through them again to catch up. The material on the second one's mask is really nice, looks like a very believable car paint.

yes ..the thinfilm plug in make in combination with gradients/incidence angle the same as a classic car paint shader...

nice stuff! how about a winter fur coat in a glacial environment? :) Lets see a fully comped portrait!

Very nice...Would it be possible to see your textures on the first image? Im curious about the subtle plastic scale look. It looks like a procedural, but with flat faced faceting.
