View Full Version : Fibre FX Bumble Bee
I made this model for the speed modelling challenge 11. So, with all the Fiber videos going around, thought it would be a great opportunity to give it a try.
Now it looks even better!

Now that's awesome! Can you make a tutorial? I almost felt a sting on my finger. LOL
Thanks guys :)
..... Can you make a tutorial?.....
Hehe!
There wouldn't be much point really. I'm a total novice with FFX. This was literally the very first time that I've tried using it. I was put off earlier, because it wasn't really working on the Mac. Besides, William Vaughan has already made 2 hours of really good FFX training available. Find it in the 9.5 discussions forum above this one. I just watched all the vids, and then set to work on this.
I would say though. That one of the real keys to getting interesting fur textures. Is using multiple instances fibre layers per surface and varying the settings between them. Fibre FX lets you do this easily. You can do a lot with relatively few settings. FFX has a very trim interface.
It's a great addition to the tool set. I never owned Sasquatch and was never able to get anything, to look even nearly as good as this with SasLite. Still a little room for improvement for a few tings.
Overall I'm very happy with this upgrade. :)

Yes, it's a HUGE difference from 9.3.1. I don't even use it anymore. I just use 9.5 now since it's quite stable and fiber fx is really cool. Good work on your bee. :)

it's nice but I don't like the background. If you put some green plant stuff behind it it's much nicer........

I'm glad I didn't see this picture this summer when I was fighting bees like this off my roof corners.

Wow! that looks so great, parm!
Can I suggest you re-render with a different background? Maybe a blurred background of an outdoor scene, etc. That b/w background really distracts from how great the bee looks. :)
