Hi, guys!

Still testing the LW 9.5 FiberFX I created this character. This time is a regular guy just like you and me.
The FFX was applyed to hair and beard with volumetric only option (that made render time go to space once I was using 2 area lights too).
There is some displacement generated in ZBrush.
Hope you like. C&C are welcome as always.

Image looks great!:thumbsup: I really like the look of the hair and the beard stubble too! I think the jacket might be my favorite part of the image. The leather looks really nice. I wouldn't mind seeing a little more skin texture/bump applied, like some wrinkles or pores, etc.

ps. what was the final render time on it?

Looks a bit Jake Gyllenhaal, skin shader could do with a bit of work, but it's very nice work indeed.

Actually now looking at the Tee shirt, I'm convinced you've been inspired by Gyllenhaal.

ahh... a little Donnie Darko reference with the shirt I see...

I have to agree, the leather jacket is the bit that seriously impresses me, stunning texture work.

_JeffrySG- Hi, Jeffry! Thanks, I am glad that you liked. And you are right about the face, it is bit smooth but for now I have no intention to change this work because I am working on other projects. About render times, well... I donīt remember exactly but it takes about 10 or 12 hours. The problem is that I have skin node + area lights + radiosity AND FFX working together, so you can imagine...

_littlewaves- You are not the first one who tell that but actualy he is not. I didnīt use references for this model.

_Andrew March- Sorry but he is not inspired by Jake Gyllenhaal. I didnīt use references for this work.

_JeffrySG- Noup! No references for this work!

_starbase1- Well, I am glad that you liked something.

_GuZZLo- Thanks, dude, glad you liked!

_WilliamVaughan- Thanks, William! I am happy that you liked!

I liked it all, but the jacket is possibly the best texturing of anything ever!
Hope it didn't come across wrongly...

Veeeery nice, man! Every single detail impresses me. Your work is awesome!

Did you use normalmap in the jacket surface?
I'm learning about and it seems to be the best way to add little details like that.
If yes... Then, what's the software that you used to make it? ZBrush or another?

I told you one... and I told you twice: AWESOME! ;)

Impressive work

The only nitpicking I would do is that the chain and cross really look flat. It just immediatly cought my eye. Nonetheless, impressive work :agree:

that looks great. one crit is that the textural bump treatment of the jacket doesnt really match the blandness of the skin texture. (its a nice tonal balance but id like to see some irregularity and weathering, wrinkles, etc, just a little bit more grungy instead of being so baby soft).

can you share a brief description of your hair workflow?

thanks.

_starbase1- It is ok! I liked the jacket too.

_SandroBenigno- Hi, Sandro! Glad you liked. To the jacked I used bumps and displacement map. And yes, it was created in ZBrush!

_Joker II- Hi, Joker II! Yeah, maybe I could put some more effort in the chain but I am involved in other projects right now and I consider this work finished.

_Stooch- Thanks for your reply. Actually I should had to make a bump with a higher value- There is, it is there, but it is really too smooth. About FFX it was created directly in Layout and then I edited guides to get a shape that I wanted. I used a weight map to determine the size of the hair too. For shader I tried a lot of setups to get this.
