(I know it's a bit to big ;))

Model looks very very good and well modeled, as for render it could use few more tweaks to make it believable but it's pretty decent this way also. I'd just use some bright sunny day for render instead this one gray/cloudy :).

I also made these ones...
These renders are more close to what the movie is going to look like. Working now on the rig. (with vehicle rigger http://vehiclerigger.walen.se)
Does any one know of a good technique for creating bigg textures. I need some for the runway it's going to race on.

Now, those two renders are way better! The first one is suffering severe AA problems though. Check the roof of the car, for instance.
Itīs a very nice model you got there!

thnx... the roof of the car is made of glass. there's a dielectric material on there. I think I need to crank the samples up.
The first render was composited in fusion using only render layers like diffuse shading, shadow, color, etc. No beauty pass was used.

Nice work. I like the cloudy sky, but the main problem that makes it look fake is that the car is much sharper than the background. The 3D model layers should always be as blurry and out of focus as the background / forground layers.

You're right Al Mejias. The picture wasn't big enough I guess. I'm still looking for a technique for making a big runway so everything will get sharp. So if anyone has a suggestion I'll be a happy man. ;)

Here's an update...
The grass in front is a separate layer for now. Going to put that in the render scene later!
Add white / light blue tire smoke to the right of the car.
And maybe blur out the grass to fake DOF. At the moment you have infinite focus which takes the realism away a bit.

Is this better?

Yes it's better but still car is too blurry. Are you moving car so it's because motion blur ?? if yes then you should stop car for STILL renders and then bring back PMBlur for animation if you are doing it :).

O yes it's motion blur! I forgot to mention that it's a single frame from an animation. An other thing I need to do is integrate the 3d grass in the scene. I used a separate scene for the grass and used fusion to composit everything together. If i integrate everything in one scene I can render it with a nice DOF effect. The car is rigged with vehicle rigger. Really nice and easy to use plugin.

looks like it is drifting..... well i would do non blur render of this.... camera position and scene comp is fine just try to unblur car and put it in right place for this comp

I understand the critics but it's a still from a movie. Do you think I need to remove the blur in the movie also?

I would not remove the blur from a movie but I would like to see this rendered as a still as well. That is a nice setting for the car.

Here's one without blur....
And here you can download an early previeq (the car drives to fast...I know)

Hey mav3rick! that's a cool looking image! hahaha! I don't mind your tweaking my image.
Every suggestion is welcome....Going to make a render of that tomorrow.

I made a new animation using one of the cool HDRI's from http://www.hdrlabs.com/ . This was really easy to setup. It took me only 10 minutes to get this animation (rendering not included ;) ). Also it renders very fast. Just around 3 minutes per frame.

so far good ... please fix camera movement generally... if you do that dramatic hand camera recording you should use high speed car to get more dramatic shoot.... and make car rool down the road... add some particles of desert dust (not heavy smoke clouds.. make it appear just a bit )

Thanks for the comments, but what do you mean with "and make car rool down the road"?
I've tried to make dust clouds but I couldn't get them to fade out nice. They always light up when I make them more transparent?! Really weird. How can I make nice particle dust clouds? are there any good tutorials out there?
thnx

have you tryed relative particle age... it fades out particles more naturaly compared to opacity... as for rolling down.... as i said make it go lot faster than it is now and when camera look after him keep it going down the road at same speed

Where should I use relative particle age on? On the opacity or density or dissolve? I tried this but the always seem to light up when they get transparent. mmm I'm stuck...
