HI I have been running screamernet for quite sometime now. It is great BUT since I upgraded from LW8.5 to LW9.5 I am having problems with the nodes saving back to my machine.

My network is just your basic workgroup no firewalls or norton or anything like that. I am all windows XP 32bit computers here. Funny thing is all the nodes will load all the images and objects and scenes fine without errors. When the nodes render the frame and says it is saving the frame back to my screamernet host machine the files do not show up. I know the nodes are getting all the files because it takes it a while to render. It would otherwise just render superfast and spit out either nothing or a blank frame.

I never had this problem when I was using LW 8.5 and the only change I made was upgrading lightwave to 9.5.

Anyone have any ideas? My lightwave 9.5 is running in XP Pro sp3 32bit.
Actually now that I am thinking about it I also upgraded to sp3 since the last time I redered on scremaernet...(not sure if that means anything)

I am pasting in what the node list was showing on just your most basic scene just one object in a scene no extra lights or anything. Alien01 is the name of my computer on the network that is running LW screamernet. It says it is saving the frame but it is not showing up on my host machine!

I found out myslef what was going on...
The LWEXT.cfg file was reverting my plugins back to the local directory. I just deleted that config file and opened lightwave and reloaded the plugins and Lscripts through the network path and PRESTO it worked jsut fine.

I would like to take the time to thank myself for a job well done!!

LOL im just kidding Im not that full of myself.

I just wanted to post this incase someone else runs into the same problem.

Cheers

James

:D I was about to say the same thing. LightWave v9 will autoupdate the configs for plugins, etc. on launch, so turn that off in Options or write-protect the file to prevent it happening next time you load LightWave...
