with the recent spate of n.p.r. renderings, i wanted to share a concept i've been trying to put together along those lines (no pun intended :D )
lw9.5, dpont's dome light and infinite light, nodes and post-processing.
(full attribution: i did not model this town, me and the patience to do so don't get along so well! somehow scraped the model off the web somewhere, where is lost to me. if you're the author, 'fess up :) )

I like that rendering style. It has almost a hand-drawn feel but not at the same time.

cool, it worked! :) that's where i wanted to go: obviously cg and 3-dimensional but with a "liney" dirty npr feel. i'm gonna call it weight, so if you were to walk or fly through it, you'd get the weight of a 3d environment.

Reminds me of that french film about the cyclists...can't remember what it was called and haven't managed to see it but it looked good...and was done in Lightwave I seem to remember...someone help me out here!

thank you william and all.
w/o copying this directly, ntl heavily influenced by this video. to get anywhere close would involve alot more than just nodes and procedurals. baby steps :D

That animation is frickin' awsome!...hitting that big ol' bullet with the hammer really made me laugh. Thanks for sharing.
