I'm working on a shockwave 3d project and I have problems with duplicated objects in lightwave scene. If an object is duplicated 20 times in the ligthwave scene when you export the scene to a shocwave 3d file, the file contains 20 times the object. This create a reel problem of file sizes. If I want to optimize the file size I need to export only one object in a shockwave 3d file, than import the file into director, duplicate it 19 times and enter the coordinates of the 20 objects with my keyboard. It would be long but possible if I was only using 20 objects but I need to duplicate one object 20 times, an other one 60 times, an other one 50 times and so on.... Is there anything I can do ???? Please help !

Instancing was never implemented. You should pester NewTek about this.

Another way to do it, to save u typing in, or working out the co-ordinates is to create nulls in layout and use director to position your objects to the nulls. If u have lots to do, u can create the points in modeller then use a point to null plugin once in layout. After you have replicated the objects in director, clear the nulls from the scene,

If you convert youy scene to 3dMAx via Deep Exploration using just your first clone, you will be able to duplicate inside Max using instances. If you export it from Max to Shockwave, you will get just one clone.
