So what? Let'em "feel like they're getting shafted." The VAST majority of Lightwave users here have asked Newtek to move into the 21st century (time and again) with REALLY competitive software. And NOW they are finally doing so. If these people STILL can't understand that... oh well. Too bad.

Your changin the subject out of context by using quotes , the word "some" should give clear state .

It's also clear that it's a delicate issue ! it's a shame NT have to resort to shutting everything down just because it strikes a nerve , it's a shame that it makes NT look as if there doing something wrong ,maybe its there turn to be heard over the biatcih!n .

It's not about that...it's about controlling the topic and not letting it run away from you. Releasing information at a steady pace...pleases people and promotes Core at the same time. But if you don't release information and wait...then you lose control and you are always trying to catch up. Causing tension for everyone, programmers, hardcore members and non hardcore members alike.

Just saying...

New Advert slogan for CORE...

CORE: Feel the shaft!

I'm personally opposed to LW going forward, and was hoping for something more primitive. I wonder what a steampunk LW would look like?

True. But what are we supposed to understand? The video demos?

Maybe afterwards there will be comments about it in this thread from us, but it won't be anything newer, better, or different from whatever it is they announce, and therefore, no "information of value" to be found here.

And almost immediately, there will be new CORE threads all over the site, and eventually someone else will visit one of them and ask when will there be information of value...
Dude, you are totally wrong about that.
What's going to happen is there will be no new CORE information at all and people will start new threads that end up getting deleted or shut down almost as soon as they start.
However, being that you wrote that 2 months ago, I'll cut you some slack. It certainly would have seemed reasonable to have expected something by now.

Does anyone honestly think NewTek has shown ANYTHING that would entice a purchase over other products except on faith?

Folks, making the forums unpleasant is not going to make CORE ready to show sooner. CEO Jim Plant long ago acknowledged that there was a great deal premature and poorly executed in the CORE announcement and reveal, and frankly the time since then has been completely devoted to getting to the place where talking about it makes much more sense. When we hit that point, then there will be videos and updated information on the web site. Prior to that point, the v9.6.1 Open Beta is in progress, and there is plenty that can be productively discussed about the LightWave you have right now, and the work you are doing with it.

Sorry, Chuck. Just hating Maya right now. Have to use it for school which is finishing in about a month and couldn't be over soon enough. Want to get back to LW and just a bit frustrated at the situation. Good times are ahead though, I know.

Why don't you and the others work a little harder at hitting it sooner with update information. It is now the middle of Nov. There is only one and a half months left before you have completely dropped the ball on NewTek's own release date. NewTek is pretty close to reaching the level of expectations of those that didn't throw away $395.00 - $495.00 on HardCore membership. The expectation that you don't have what it takes to release Core on time and functioning per your original talk.

Telling people to shut up this close to the release date demonstrates that your teams is behind and probably will not meet the Dec. release date. So do yourselves a favor, tell everyone what the new release date is and get on with finishing the product.

Yes chuck we are getting tired of waiting for vaperware.
