My park hopping is coming to a close and I am finally getting a chance to work on this again.
I couldn't figure out how the shoulders worked, so I jumped down to the hand and am going to work my way up the arm.

I need to curve the fingers into a more natural position, but I am having trouble doing so because they don't lie along the normal xyz. I tried rotating the fingers using the perspective view, but I can't get that precise enough. I tried taking the object into Layout and rotating the pivot, but when I switched from pivot rotation to normal rotation, the handles weren't the same as what I had just set them at.
Anybody have any ideas? I know this is possible, but I can't get it to work

And here is the next update. I started working on the upper arm. I think I will go back and add a little bit more to the lower arms.

Still need on the rotation thing

Well here is the total arm assembly. I think they look pretty good, but I think they need a bit of tweaking. Anybody have any idea as to what proportion needs to change? I can't quite put my finger on the iffy parts.

Probiner: it probably will handle it just well enough to be absolutely frustratingly annoying

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh. Ok so life partially sucks right now, although it could have been worse.

I was working along and managed to hit Shift+S instead of s. Not a problem except that I managed to delete the original version and the incremental version turned out screwed.

I ended up only losing his shoulders and the base of his hands, but it will still need reconstruction.

Here is the progress I had made up to that point. I resized the arms, made them look more normal, and started creating the lower torso.

Well here goes the reconstruction, wish me luck

LOL dang wish I had known that earlier. Well I have it turned on now. Thanks for the tip at least
about that vague feeling that the first time around was better.

I managed to redo the hands and shoulders. I also added the inner chest area and the beginnings of the legs.
I am starting to realize that I am a slow modeler Granted I worked on this mostly last night, and none the day before, but still some of you Lightwave greats could have done this in two sittings, Yes?

I think next up is the back of the shoulders and the top of the legs.

Oh and just for kicks...
I played my little brother in DoW Soulstorm today and realized that the Necron Lord looks rather similar to what I am doing I think Soulstorm copied from Star Wars.

Boogiedown I think I gots me a General Grevious

Well I think the modeling portion of this project is coming to a close. I need to make a cape and lightsabers, but those are easy.

I think the next major part of this project is surfacing.

I always get to this point in a model and then realize that I should have kept track of how long it took me to do this. I think I am somewhere between 20 and 30 hours, but I really have no clue.

Here is the first of the surfacing pics.
Please let me know what you think.
Eyeballs, scratches, and detail marks made by me the rest is procedural.

Oh wow you finished the modeling. I like it. I don't know the character but it looks ok to me.

Now the bugging question... are you rigging it?

That backdrop is a little and watchout for the smoothing threshold in the cape.

Good Job

Rigging am I. Once I get it completely done and surfaced.
The backdrop is crazy, yes, but I needed it crazy to test the surface reflections
The cape hasn't even been touched yet surface-wise, so no smoothing etc. I actually have 2 active capes right now. They are the same shape but one of them is only 1 poly thick. I don't know which is going to be easier for me to use dynamics on.
