Speed Modeling Challenge #49 - It Lives!!

Speed Modeling Challenge #49 - It Lives!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

************************************************** *******
Rules:

1: Every week there will be a subject for you to model along with a time limit. You should spend no longer than the allocated time, then post a render of your model. As in most challenges like this, your honesty on modelling times is essential.
How you interpret the brief is up to you as long as the final model conforms to what is asked for.

2: Post a render of your model (min 800x600 pixels) in this thread with a wireframe.

3: LightWave should be used for modelling. 3rd party Plug ins are allowed.

4: You can enter as many times as you like, posting each in this thread. If you run over the time, the model can still be posted but won't be subject to the judging.

5: Time spent on texturing, setting up a scene for a render and rendering is not included in the allocated period.

**Please mention whether or not you would be happy to share the model.**

A quick start, about 45min on it so far.
My eyes are failing on me so I will use the remaining 45 tomorrow to get a bit more done.

Hmm... Will this end up involving Deborah Gibson, the Golden Gate Bridge and an airliner?

Another 30 min to get it to this point.
I really need to work on my rigging. I tried a bit of IKBooster for the tentacles, they flew around a bit but eventualy got this.

I don't think I will tackle the Golden Gate bridge though

Not sure magic is quite the word but still a giant shark grabbing an airliner from the sky has a certain something.

This snail will take some thinking for the texturing. About 30 min modeling

Not to worry, I would feel funny picking myself as a winner anyway

Looking forward to seeing your progress.

it's funny to go back through and watch it because you dont realize how many steps you are doing haha i have noticed that my modeling methods seem really "old school" and i rarely use any of the new tools. it's basically a poly-to-poly method and i only really use pen, extender, weld, move and an occasional bevel.
