Looking reasonable so far, I think the lighting needs some more work, some secondary light from the right hand side would help fill in the dark areas, not too much, just enough to bring out the details, and I would tone down the brushed metal, too harsh at the moment.

thanks for the input Matt...yes to be honest I just smacked an area light and and HDR via image world, and as for the front plate's brushed metal I agree that it's too harsh and does not look right. I tried many different solutions to recreate the real thing but still can't wrap my head around this surface, I can't figure it out ! I'll try and improve it, maybe i need to tweak the specular map and have more variation in the streaks..

Very cool!
Same crits as Matt. You really have to take some time to light your models right, cause you work hard on them and then they don't show up in their best =)
The flash is a texture?
Cheers

hey probiner thanks for the feedback, I'll try hard and light my models better ! the flash part is all modeled consist of the slot in the main mesh, two transparent panels and the flash tube/bulb. The vertical lines on the inner panel are a simple bump map

Really nice work. You could also try a dome light to fill the shadows a bit, could be worth a try.

thanks abdel!
new surface for the front plate, a friend suggested that brushed metal needs anisotropy so I messed around with the specular shading node...I also tweaked the lighting a bit !

anyway no more time for this, moving on

Looks really nice! You might benefit from placing a few 'refection cards' in the scene to really bring out some nice highlights. I usually just add a single poly with a glow of 100% (or more). The poly could be very tall or wide, etc. Just place it behind the LW camera somewhere so the product picks up some of its refections, etc. You can add a few too if needed.
The model looks really nice too!

hey Jeffry thanks so much ! i really appreciate the feedback and will try and find the time to add these reflection cards...sounds an interesting technique and i think I've done something similar with a car model I completed a few weeks ago !
anyway if it wasn't for your tutorials I couldn't have done it (i keep watching them, and pick up new things!), so once again a huge thanks
