Graphics Tablet / aspect problem

I recently bought a graphics tablet, and noticed that when I draw a circle, it shows as an oval... is there something I need to tweak in Aura, or should I speak to the tablet folk (it's a "Trust" tablet).

Regards,

Tried clicking on the "A" (aspect display mode) button on the lower right of the Aura project window?

Thanks for the reply, Steve.

Didn't make any difference!

Let me get this straight: if you drag out a circle (with the Shift key held down to constrain it) with the mouse, it is round. If you drag it out with the stylus, it's not. Is that correct?

I first noticed the discrepancy when I placed a photo under the plastic sheet on the tablet. The drawing came out looking like it was a squashed head...

To double check, I placed a CD on the tablet and drew a circle round it - not with Circle tool, but by drawing freehand around the CD.

The shape is oval :~/

(thanks for your responses!)

Interesting. I han't really noticed this, since I never use my tablet to trace things -- I just draw while watching the monitor. But you're correct. I found a fix though.

I'm using a two monitor display solution, and suspect you are too. The default settings for the tablet take into account the aspect of the entire display, no doubt so one can traverse the entire display area with the tablet/cursor. This effectively squashes it when using 2560x1024, as I am.

However, the Wacom settings applet permits me to restrict the screen area to correspond to whatever I like for a given app. I set up a preference for Aura that limits the stylus to traversing that window only, and now the drawing aspect is more or less normal. Perhaps you can do something similar.

That makes a lot of sense, Steve. I fear my tablet may not expose the ability to modify in the same way as yours... serve me right for not going Wacom... :~/

Thanks for the advice.
