Tally with rm-m7g remote controller

I own three eng cameras. Sony dsr-370 and two dxc-327. I use them for live video edition (shows and concerts). I own also 3 rm-m7g remote controllers as ccu with 11 pin connector that are connected to the cameras. I mix the three camera signals with a digital videonics 4ch mixer. The mixer has no in/out for tally or for camera control.
My porpouse is to to light the tally of the camera when camera is switched from the mixer, but no idea about how. The only way to light the camera tally is to press the rec button from the remote controler of each camera, but thats not the way.
Any idea? How could i light the tally from the camera to make actors know when that camera is on air?
Thanks a lot.

Short of opening up the videonics unit and surgically implanting a circuit or switches to trigger the tally lights on the ccu's, I don't see how it can be done. Maybe a Radio Shack box with three momentary switched that you can hold down with your other hand?

Probably a question for the Videonics forum.

The videoonics MX-suck mixers (that's all of 'em MX1, MXpro, MXproDV, etc...) have no support for tally. They are not professional mixers disinged ot be used properly.
How did you end up with such a peice of junk for those nice cameras?

Not amny of those cheap mixers do tally. the older panasonic mixers dont' have it either, or a couple of other cheap ones.

This is one of the benefits of the VT, or of course a proper mixer.

Regarding getting the tally signal to your cameras from the RCU...
just about any camera CCU has a tally input, check with tthe specks for the correct wiring protocol. Not sure about finding tally on a RCU though.
