X / Y Motion Image Buffer

Hello,

everyone knows the different image buffer like "depth" or "geometry". You found these in the Buffer Viewer or Buffer Export PlugIns in the Image Filter list.

But what are the X-Motion and Y-Motion Buffers????
What can I do with this? And how these buffers are created?

Thank You!

Hi Robert,
these are the movement of the rendered pixel in x/y on the image plane.
Vector Blur uses this info to render image based motion blur, the rpf saver saves this data as well.
Cheers,
Mike

So far so good, but what can I do with this? Can I use this with DFX+? For some kind of special post pro techniques? (now I`m curious)

I assume you can use it for post-processed motion blur, just like Z buffer is used for pp dof.

And a BLT at McD's.
