TriCaster™ awarded Best Innovative Hardware of 2005 by Videomaker Magazine
NewTek’s Portable Video Switcher Earns Eleventh Award in Less Than a Year
San Antonio, TX – January 24, 2006 -- NewTek, Inc., manufacturer of industry-leading video and 3D animation products, was honored to receive Videomaker Magazine’s Best Innovative Hardware of 2005 Award for TriCaster. Videomaker’s editorial staff chose their favorite products of 2005, and selected them based on quality, affordability, ease of use, innovation, dependability, performance and empowerment.
Editors honored TriCaster for Best Innovative Hardware by stating “A television producer who writes for us replaced his $225,000 switcher with the $5,000 TriCaster and found the system could hold its own.” TriCaster is a portable live production appliance with simultaneous output to video, projector and Internet. TriCaster creates compelling productions, with real-time switching, integrated scan-conversion and scaling, importing external computer displays, template driven titles and more than 200 transitions. Designed to appeal to corporate presenters, educators and media ministries, this 10-pound, shoebox-sized appliance allows users to produce presentations that have all the dynamics of live television. This marks TriCaster’s eleventh award, including a prestigious Emmy Nomination, Government Video Salute Award and EventDV Editor’s Pick Award.
“The central issue here is savings: TriCaster saves money, saves time in setup and saves space on location,” said Philip Nelson, Vice-President of Sales and Video Marketing. ”NewTek is thrilled to provide such a flexible presentation system that’s this easy to use, and Videomaker’s Innovation award is further validation this is an appliance that’s meeting presenter’s needs.”
NewTek is highlighting TriCaster during a 50-city tour throughout North America, through April. Information and reservations for NewTek LIVE! 2006 Tour are at tour.newtek.com.
