NewTek and BMXTVDirect.com announce partnership to stream
ABA BMX races live using TriCasterPRO™

Live Webcasts of top BMX Races Across North America connects fans with racers

San Antonio, Texas (April 4, 2007) – NewTek, manufacturer of industry-leading video and 3D animation products, today announced that its TriCasterPRO™ will be used to stream multi-camera, live video of the American Bicycle Association’s (ABA) National BMX race series.  Carried live on ABABMX.TV, this collaboration will connect the largest sanctioning body in the United States for bicycle motocross sports with its growing online audience.

TriCasterPRO™ is a portable, live production suite with a comprehensive toolset designed to facilitate live production for any organization – including broadcasters, corporations, educators, churches and individuals who would like to reach local and worldwide audiences with professional-quality, multi-camera video via the Internet.

The ABA organizes BMX racing for boys, girls and adults in the US and Canada. Representing 60,000 active members, 274 racing facilities and a 27 event-national race schedule, the ABA is the leading promoter and facilitator of “action sports” or “X-activities.” ABABMX.TV was created when the American Bicycle Association joined forces this year with BMXTVDIRECT.COM. BMXTVDIRECT.COM is a division of Lillethorup Productions, Inc., an Omaha, Nebraska-based video production company that has supported BMX events for more than 25 years.

“In the average ABA National race weekend, we cover between 150 – 300 motos and over 100 main events with 1,000 to 2,500 racers,” said Tim Lillethorup, President, Lillethorup Productions. “The portability, low cost and ease-of-use we found with TriCaster has allowed us to focus on making a great show instead of setting up racks and racks of expensive gear. Thousands of BMX fans around the globe are watching their favorite racers thanks to TriCasterPRO™.”

“The Internet television revolution is here,” said Philip Nelson, Vice President, Video Sales and Marketing. “A traditional television network won’t broadcast 12 hours of content from a single sport over the course of a race weekend. ABABMX.TV allows the fan to choose what content THEY want watch, with hundreds of motos to choose from. We are honored that TriCasterPRO™ was chosen as the enabling technology for this ambitious project. Our partnership is very timely, as BMX grows from the leading X-Game activity to a 2008 Olympic sport. We have great expectations for this exciting opportunity.”
