Las Vegas, NV -- NAB -- April
19, 2004 -- NewTek, Inc., manufacturer

has joined NewTek as Senior Director of Video

powerful real-time uncompressed integrated
production tools, including new vertical offerings
based on the powerful VT[3] technologies. This
marks Nelson’s return to NewTek after
a successful stint at a new startup for the
last year.
“Philip was instrumental
in the development of a strong reseller channel
for NewTek in North America, and under his leadership
we saw significant growth the sales of our product
throughout the region. A key to his success in
our sales group was keen insight into customer
needs and the ability to turn that into effective
marketing communications. In his new role, NewTek
will benefit from allowing Philip to focus these
skills on the growth of our video product marketing
and sales efforts,” said Jim Plant, President
and CEO of NewTek.
Nelson first joined NewTek in
early 1998 as the Inside Sales Manager for the
east coast region. In January 1999 Nelson was
promoted to Regional Sales Manager for the central
United States. In 2001 he assumed the regional
sales management position for the east coast
region. In 2002 Nelson was promoted to Director
of Sales for North America. Prior to joining

equipment at the reseller level for Mission Service
Supply in Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi.
Nelson also put his video production and entrepreneurial
skills to work as the founder and owner of VAR
Studios/Multimedia an award winning video production

serving clients including Tim McGraw, Georgia-Pacific,
ESPN Outdoors and Coca-Cola.
"I joined the NewTek revolution
in the early 1990’s when I bought the original
Video Toaster; it allowed me to compete and win
in a field that would normally have been cost
prohibitive,” said Nelson. "In 1998
when I officially joined the company, I wanted
to show the world how empowering NewTek products
