NewTek, Inc. Promotes Philip
Nelson to Director of Sales for North America

24, 2002 NewTek, manufacturer of industry-leading
3D animation and video production products,
announced today that it has promoted Philip
Nelson to Director of Sales for North America.
“Philip has been instrumental
in the development of the reseller channel in
his territories, with his leadership we have
seen significant growth the sales of our product
throughout the region. This new position provides
the opportunity for him to put these skills to
use throughout North America,” said Jim
Plant, President and CEO of NewTek.
In his new position, Nelson
will manage and develop the sales organization
for NewTek throughout North America, assisting
in the growth and development of NewTek products
in the region by identifying market potential,
establishing effective channel strategies for
the region and building and training a team of
professional sales and product demonstrators.
“I joined the NewTek revolution
in the early 1990’s when I bought my first
VT®, it allowed me to compete
and win in a field that would normally have been
cost prohibitive. In 1998 when I officially joined
the company, I wanted to show the world how empowering
NewTek products really are,” said Nelson. “We
have made amazing progress both in developing
an extraordinary line of products and developing
a strong reseller channel to support those products.
I am excited to be on board to push the envelope
even farther.”
Nelson joined NewTek in early
1998 as the Inside Sales Manager for the east
coast region. In January 1999 Nelson was promoted
to Regional Sales Manager for the central United
States. In 2001 he assumed the regional sales
management position for the east coast region.
Prior to joining NewTek, Nelson sold and supported
video production equipment at the reseller level
for Mission Service Supply in Louisiana, Arkansas
and Mississippi. Nelson also put his video production
and entrepreneurial skills to work as the founder
and owner of VAR Studios/Multimedia an award
winning video production and Internet provider
from 1991 to 1997, serving clients including
Tim McGraw, Georgia-Pacific and Coca-Cola.
