Cognitech to OEM NewTek Video
Capture Card
Cognitech’s Software
and the NewTek Video Capture Card Deliver State
of the Art Forensic Video Processing and Analysis
System
SIGGRAPH 2002 - San
Antonio, TX - July 24, 2002 – NewTek
Inc., creator of industry-leading 3D animation
and video production products, along with Cognitech,
Inc., the leading producer of image and video
processing software and integrated solutions
for forensic, security, surveillance, and military
applications, today announced an OEM strategic
partnership. The innovative NewTek video capture
card will be delivered as Cognitech’s
Video Acquisition Advanced Pro solution to
be used with Cognitech’s Video Processing/Analysis
Suite, comprised of Video Investigator and
Video Active software environments.
Capturing an uncompressed video
stream such as a videotape source, with no data
loss is paramount for forensic video processing
applications. The Video Acquisition Advanced
Pro utilizing the NewTek video capture card,
is the top of the line in Cognitech’s video
capturing environment. It offers uncompressed
acquisition of NTSC/PAL video with all existing
video content captured and digitized. The Time
Base Corrector (TBC) incorporated into the hardware
design assists with acquiring footage from damaged
videotape. The versatile video out on the NewTek
capture card allows users to create video presentations
and output them onto videotape for court usage.
Cognitech’s Video Active, real-time video
processing software, can simultaneously capture,
process and output processed data, like enhanced
video or de-multiplexed camera views. This eliminates
the need for a massive digital storage for time-critical
video applications.
“We are pleased to be
able to respond to our customers with a more
affordable solution through this OEM partnership.
We are also excited that by selecting the NewTek
video capture card we now have the flexibility
to offer NewTek’s award-winning LightWave
3D® and VT[2] software to
our clients as an option, useful in producing
high quality courtroom presentations. Choosing
the NewTek video capture card enabled us to provide
our customers with excellent value, high quality
and flexibility,” said Dr. Lenny Rudin,
CEO of Cognitech.
“Government and forensic
video analysis is a dynamically emerging vertical
market within the video production and 3D animation
industries,” said Michael Kornet, Director
of Business Development for NewTek. “Through
strategic OEM partnerships, NewTek is committed
to offer the most convenience, control, flexibility
and affordability with our smart technology to
companies with complementary products who are
looking to offer unique video and 3D solutions
to their customers. This OEM agreement and Cognitech’s
selection of the NewTek video capture card is
an exciting example of the expanding strategic
partnerships that are underway at Newtek.”
