NewTek Announces OEM Products Division

D1 Video Capture Card is First Product Offered

SIGGRAPH 2002 - San Antonio, TX - July 24, 2002 – NewTek Inc., creator of industry-leading 3D animation and video production products, announced today its strategic partnership strategy with the formation of an OEM Products Division. The NewTek OEM Products Division will leverage the core competencies of NewTek’s award winning products to target vertical markets and channels through strategic partnerships.

The OEM Products Division’s mission is to utilize NewTek’s proprietary technology to offer the most convenience, control, flexibility and affordability to companies with complementary products that are looking to deliver unique broadcast, video and 3D solutions to their customers.

“Our objective is to not only gain a foothold in the broadcast, video production and digital content creation OEM space, but to offer NewTek solutions to new markets and become a leader in delivering these quality OEM solutions to partners at very competitive prices. The NewTek brand has always stood for enormous value and our OEM products will be no different,” said Michael Kornet, who heads up the OEM Products Division as Director of Business Development. “We will be very aggressive in establishing strategic OEM partnerships with a myriad of companies looking to utilize our unique technology. This is a significant market for us.”

NewTek’s partnerships with MaxVision, Cognitech, MTV 2, HP and ANC are the most recent in a series of strategic agreements created by the newly formed division in order to mutually deliver complimentary products to a broader customer base.

“Offering NewTek products as an OEM solution is a natural evolution which is why we have established this new division to develop the market,” said Jim Plant President and CEO of NewTek. “Our products deliver the highest value for the money and can be easily adapted to many applications as is evident from the OEM partnerships we have already established.”

The first offering from the OEM Products Division is the innovative NewTek video capture card. Built on the award-winning success of NewTek’s VT[2] technology, the NewTek video capture card is a ¾-length PCI card that works with Windows XP, NT and Windows 2000-based workstations and provides the following:

  • Capture, edit and output to uncompressed video
  • Real-time uncompressed D1 recording and playback
  • Component, Y/C and Composite in and out through supplied breakout cables
  • Audio recording and playback at 48 kHz using 1/8” stereo jacks
  • Dual-standard capable of both NTSC and PAL in and out
  • Multiple inputs and outputs

The NewTek video capture card comes complete to OEMs with its own software which consists of software development libraries comprising object code and driver files needed to build an interface with the NewTek video capture card and equipment breakout cables for component, Y/C and composite input and output. In addition, NewTek’s award winning VT[2] and LightWave 3D® applications are also available as options with the NewTek video capture card.
