NewTek’s VT[2]
Offers Seamless Integration
with eyeon’s Digital Fusion®
Pristine Uncompressed Output
a Powerful Match for High-End Compositing Tool
San Antonio, TX – August
21, 2002 -- NewTek, Inc., manufacturer
of industry-leading 3D animation and video
products, and eyeon software today announced
that NewTek’s VT[2]
now operates transparently with eyeon’s
Digital Fusion® 3.1 and their latest release,
Digital Fusion® 4 (DF4). VT[2]
is a dual-standard NTSC/PAL Studio-in-a-Box™,
which provides uncompressed capture, editing,
video paint, 3D animation, keying and live
switching, on the Windows® 2000 platform.
DF4 is a fully integrated, non-linear compositing
and special effects post-production system
for finishing, designing and effects creation
used in feature films, HDTV, broadcast video,
web-based and multimedia projects and more.
“Using NewTek's VT[2] as a framebuffer in eyeon's
Digital Fusion® gives us the flexibility
we need in working with clients,” said
Oliver Hotz, Digital Artist/VFX Supervisor at
ColoradoFX, in Santa Monica, CA. “Clients
can watch the artist work on a regular video
monitor, giving them the same environment as
they are used to in our flame® suite. The
artist's work is greatly speeded up by the instant
feedback on how the shot will look on the air.
VT®'s framebuffer is much faster
than other Windows framebuffer products, giving
feedback in real-time, with no lag, even with
Digital Fusion’s Paint Module. VT[2]
and Digital Fusion® are an absolutely killer
price/performance combination."
DF4 expertly combines an incredible
toolset with benchmark speed, bringing previously
expensive high-end capabilities at an affordable
price to the already cost-effective VT[2].
LightWave 3D® and other CG animators can
now enjoy uncompressed compositing of their work
with component or SDI video using the VT®’s
uncompressed file format. Digital Fusion® takes
full advantage of VT®’s
real-time hardware framebuffer, allowing all
work to be viewed on NTSC or PAL broadcast monitors.
“We have always been
aware of the vast number of LightWave 3D® users
that realize Digital Fusion® is the best
way to professionally finish a shot,” said
eyeon Product Manager, Isaac Guenard. “Our
tight integration with VT[2]
streamlines DF with NewTek products making the
production pipeline as efficient as possible.”
”This is a perfect solution
for anyone who does visual effects, animation,
or motion graphics,” said Andrew Cross,
NewTek’s Senior Vice President of Engineering. “LightWave
3D®’s beautiful rendering capabilities,
Digital Fusion’s complete high-end compositing
tools, matched with VT®’s
uncompressed editing and D1 output form the most
complete and powerful, yet affordable content
creation suite ever. Users will be well able
to take on any project from web to feature film.”

several dramatic improvements, including:
