Set of Fifty New Images
Brings Free Resource for All Digital Artists
to 250 High Resolution Textures
San Antonio, Texas – November
26, 2003 -- NewTek, Inc., manufacturer
of industry-leading 3D animation and video
products, today announced the release of the
fifth edition of NewTek's free Texture Collection.
As with previous editions, this new set includes
fifty high-resolution textures available for
free download at NewTek.com. The total number
of free textures available from NewTek is now
at 250. The theme in the fifth edition of the
texture collection is solid materials, and
includes images in the categories Brick, Concrete,
Masonry, Rocks, and Stone.
"Texturing is one of the
fundamental attributes that can take average
3D work and make it truly extraordinary," said
Layne Smith, Graphics and Multimedia Director
at The Dallas Morning News. "In print, the
higher resolution the better! NewTek's collection
of high-resolution textures is an absolute must
for artists of all skill levels. And it's free!
This kind of support from NewTek, coupled with
it's competitive pricing and extremely helpful
user community, is what makes NewTek the best
3D company around."
All textures are unretouched
photographic images at 1600 pixels x 1200 pixels
resolution. The textures are provided in JPEG
format, for efficient download. The first four
editions of the texture collection have been
overwhelmingly popular, with tens of thousands
of downloads since they were originally posted.
NewTek plans to release additional sets of high-resolution
textures from time to time and participants can
sign up for notification of the release of new
sets.
