Description
As an Applications Developer with the MIS Department, you will be responsible for planning, researching, designing, coding, testing and deploying database-driven web-based applications that support our customer base and internal users. You will work in an Apache, PHP/MySQL Debian Linux environment developing and administering back end database CMS applications.

Responsibilities Include:

• Meeting with management / colleagues to gather software requirements.
• Creating functional designs based on requirements.
• Determining technical needs & creating specifications based on functional designs.
• Building, changing & maintaining MySQL databases.
• Building, changing & maintaining PHP web applications.
• Other duties as requested.

Qualifications

• A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent is preferred
• Proficient with MS Windows and Debian Linux
• 2 years experience developing database-driven web applications
• Knowledge of DBMS, specifically MySQL 4.0+
• 2 years experience developing websites with PHP 4.0+
• Proficient with HTML / JavaScript / CSS
• Be comfortable using desktop applications such as MS Office, and OpenOffice
• Experience with open source software and Unix / Linux
• Experience administering Linux & Apache is a plus
• Visual creativity (graphics, layout, design) is a plus
• Experience with web development technologies other than PHP/MySQL is a plus
