Problem: Weird binary characters in the config file.

This can be solved two ways. With the software not running, delete the config file; then run the program to re-write the config file. This would be all that is needed in 3.5 and earlier versions; in 4.0 and later, the user will need to re-load the plugins. Alternatively, while the software is shutdown, the user could load the config files in an editor which will handle binary characters (Memacs will work for this on the Amiga), and edit out the binary garbage, then re-save the file.
