Audio Problems & Errors
Audio is Hissing and Popping on Playback
Product: Flyer
Platforms: 2000 3000 3000T 4000 4000T
Problem: Audio in a video or audio
clip hisses and pops when played back.
-
A very common cause for this symptom is that the
audio was clipped when recorded. If the audio volume
on the VU meters goes off the scale at any time
during recording of the clip, then the audio is
clipped. A Flyer audio or video clip which contains
clipped audio may or may not play fine if played
by clicking on it, but will nearly always cause
defective audio playback when used in a project,
and may sometimes cause stuttering in audio and
video. The clip must be redigitized if clipping
occurs during recording.
-
Audio was recorded to only one channel when the
clip was made, but playback is set for stereo.
Check clips individually and test the right and
left channels to see on which the audio was recorded.
Modify the project to set the audio channel control
for each clip properly on the Storyboard. This
can be avoided if, when recording a monaural source,
a splitter cable is used and the audio is fed to
both Flyer audio input channels.
