Product: Flyer
Platforms: 2000 3000 3000T 4000 4000T
Problem: Users experience problems
with CD operations either during installation of the
Flyer software, or with operations after installing
Flyer software.
This is usually the result of overwriting a newer
version of AsimCDFS, which the user has purchased and
installed, with the older version which is licensed
by NewTek, and is on the Flyer install set.
During the 4.1 install, the install routine checks
for the presence of a CD-ROM filesystem driver on the
target system. If such a driver is detected, the user
will be offered the choice to use the version of the
ASIM software which is on the Flyer install disks,
or to use the drivers already on the system. If the
user has AsimCDFS, it is best just to use the version
already on the system.
Also relative to 4.1 and earlier Flyer install CDs,
if the system is using the AmigaDOS 3.1 CD drivers,
then the user should install the ASIM drivers, because
the 3.1 CD drivers will cause the install to fail at
the Autohue file. The Autohue file has a file size
of 0, and AmigaDOS 3.1 CD driver cannot copy a file
of size 0. AsimCDFS can. The 4.2 and 4.3 install CDs
use a dummy file for Autohue, and they can be installed
by the AmigaDOS 3.1 CD drivers.
