Amiga Video Toaster / Flyer FAQs
  Amiga Flyer
    General Sequencing Errors
Certain ChromaFX Do Not Work in a Sequence

Product: Flyer

Platforms: 2000 3000 3000T 4000 4000T

Problem: Bronze (93), Chrome (28), ColorBands (50), Gold (29), HeavyPoster (16) do not work when used in a sequence. instead they set program to black; BandFilter (48), HueFilter (04) crash the system when used.

Our thanks to Warren J. Savage for a thorough job of testing out this problem and identifying the solution. In his own words:

When I loaded 4.2, I found the following ChromaFX didn't work in sequences:

Bronze (93), Chrome (28), ColorBands (50), Gold (29), HeavyPoster (16)

(They just sent PROGRAM to black... )

And the following ChromaFX just plain CRASHED the Flyer:

BandFilter (48), HueFilter (04)

Here's the fix -- Go to ChromaFX via the pop-up PROGRAMS menu. Once there, select the effect with the number gadget, then click on the TAKE button (The clapboard -- actually, I don't know if you actually have to TAKE the effect for this to work, but that's the way I did it... ) Once you do this, click on the SAVE EFFECT button.

The FIRST time you click on SAVE EFFECT, you're in the [VOLUME]:NewTek/Programs directory. [VOLUME]: is whatever you've named the drive your Toaster/Flyer software resides in. You have to go up a parent level (/NewTek) then into (/Effects)and then into (/ChromaFX) before you can find the ChromaFX files. The correct directory path should be [VOLUME]:NewTek/Effects/ChromaFX

(If you're a power-user, you can type the path directly into the string gadget in the requester.)

Select (click on) the name of the effect (NOT the [name].I file --that's the icon), then click on the OK button.

After this first time the file requester will open on the proper directory.

Repeat for each of the above effects...
