   VT[3] Update 1

Thank you for installing this latest update to NewTek's VT[3] software. A lot of great changes have taken place, both in fixes and in new features. We appreciate your feedback, which plays a large role in shaping this Integrated Production Suite's future. Please send feature requests to vidfeatures@newtek.com.

There is a new Registration process implemented with this update. NewTek has provided an easier system for online registration, and the ability to register over-the-phone with Customer Service.   Step-by-step instructions can be found at:
http://register.newtek.com/howto/index.aspx.

New Features/Improvements in VT[3] Update 1:

  • VT-Edit includes chapter markers in "wrapped-avi" files. These correspond to the to level project markers and include labels. This can be read by many of the popular DVD authoring applications.
  • Support for 32bit AVI files with alpha channel being read.
  • Improved edge anti-aliasing and sub-pixel rendering.
  • CG page numbering for saved pages updated to conform with the rest of VT[3]
  • AfterEffects RTV loader and saver no longer require VT[3] to be installed on the machine being used. This will allow users to use their RTV files on machines other than their VT[3] station.
  • Full support for SDI Audio. There is a new Preferences option, "When capturing from SDI" allowing a selection between "Use SDI Audio" or "Use Analog Audio". Selecting this option with the record panel open or batch capture open and have SDI selected on Main In, then the recording of digital SDI audio will be enabled.
  • Support for 32bit BMP file import added.
  • DV capture is now Type-1. AVI support improved. Full support for the OpenDML, including 'drop frames', true key-frame support, extended blocks, etc...
  • Discreet Combustion 3.0 support (when C3 ships.)
  • Batch capture generates it's own folder to save projects into. Save, Load, etc... work in a more logical way.
  • Updated CG keyboard shortcuts (see on line help for details.)
  • "Remove DVE from Switcher" keyboard shortcuts added. (see on line help for details.)
  • Keyboard shortcuts in deck control updated and improved (See online help for details.)

  • VT-Vision maximum sizes have been updated.
  • Spline preset defaults updated.
