Sports Video Group spoke with Philip Nelson, Chief Relationship Officer for NewTek, and  Scott Wilcox, Director of Technology for South by Southwest (SXSW), about the live production teams that brought a wide range of festival events to a worldwide audience via live streaming.  For the sixth year in a row, the teams used NewTek TriCaster multi-camera production systems located in multiple venues to produce HD network-style TV content and share it with the world.  Content was streamed via both the internet and SXSW’s Roku Channel.

Then NewTek Studio team members made the rounds of the venues at SXSW 2015 where TriCasters were at work.  Here are some of the photos we took.

In addition to those used by SXSW itself, other TriCasters are busy during the festival. Curse Mackey and Delve Inn host The Spontaneous Speakeasy during SXSW, which live streams performances using a TriCaster for the length of the festival.

One of the SXSW TriCasters is at the SXSW ON studio at the Hilton Hotel across from the Austin Convention Center. Here SXSW.com conducts and live-streams interviews with industry leaders and notables in the various fields making up SXSW, during the term of the festival.
