Largest High School Video Scoreboard in US Gets Instant Replay/Slow Motion
New Caney ISD’s new Texas Drive Stadium sports the largest video board and the first full-length stadium fascia of any high school stadium in the country. For such ambitious displays, they also added state-of-the-art equipment to create and drive the content for games and events. Integrated display and solutions provider Nevco installed a control room that supports multiple inputs for HD cameras, including wireless, manual and remote-operated robotic pan-tilt-zoom cameras (PTZ cameras). The control room includes the NewTek Tricaster 8000, the top-of-the-line HD switcher that merges live video switching, broadcast graphics, and web streaming into a single, compact appliance, and NewTek 3Play 425, for professional instant replay and slow motion.
Nevco has detailed the specifications of the installation in an article on their website, and the New Caney High School Journalism Class has produced a video covering the new stadium and the live production capabilities installed to drive the massive displays. Links are provided below.
