Seacrest Foundation Provides Media Production Studios for Pediatric Hospitals
The Ryan Seacrest Foundation has built media production facilities for several pediatric hospitals across the country, with the goal “for patients to explore the creative realms of Radio, Television and New Media, that will aid in the healing process for children and their families during their stay” (from Seacrest Studio’s What We Do). The 10th such facility was added last spring, at Vanderbilt University’s Monroe Carrell Jr. Children’s Hospital in Nashville. Immaculate Connections has handled the integration work on many of the facilities, including Nashville, and their chief engineer, Mitch Robertson, recently wrote about their experiences and the equipment for the facilities for RadioWorld.
When Robertson spoke with Seacrest Studios Nashville Manager Mamie Shepherd, she explained the impact of the studios this way: “Parents routinely thank us for what the Ryan Seacrest Foundation has provided. Seacrest Studios can be one part reality, one part fantasy. It’s a place for a kid to dream, plan, grow, learn, sing openly and just be a kid again — not a diagnosis. The generosity of the foundation, has given sick and injured children across the United States a place to be cool.”
NewTek is honored that a TriCaster multi-camera integrated production system is a standard part of the video production equipment for these studios.
