University of Pennsylvania Equips Med School for Online Course Production
November 03, 2016 by Chuck Baker
Ivy League school University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) has equipped the Perelman School of Medicine with a complete in-house video production studio. The school uses the studio to record course lectures, training videos, and to create content for the university’s open online education companies. At the heart of the production suite is TriCaster, providing both multi-camera switching and virtual sets.
“Having the TriCaster allows us to build virtual sets in conjunction with the broadcast,” said Charles Bears, UPenn’s director of media technology and production. “With our two-to-three-camera environment, we can cycle around the room and superimpose any background of our choice.”
New Jersey-based integrator VCA designed the production pipeline and purpose-built the facility to meet UPenn’s needs for online course content production and broadcast production.
