How to Connect TriCaster® to Restream
November 07, 2018 by Chuck Baker
NewTek professional multi-camera live production systems have either one or two streaming encoders. They also have native capability for sending each encoded stream to multiple social video platforms. That noted, live production combining multiple cameras, multiple device inputs and integrating pre-produced content and motion graphics can be very demanding on the I/O, memory and processing resources of the production system. NewTek workflow experts have often noted that producers may wish to preserve system resources for these heavy demands of live production by offloading tasks such as multi-destination streaming.
Restream, a leading multidestination streaming host platform, and NewTek recently collaborated on integrating their product lines. NewTek production systems now have a ready-made made preset for Restream as a streaming destination. Restream then covers the need for multidestination streaming with support for over 30 social platforms, including Facebook Live, YouTube Events, YouTube Stream Now, Twitch, UStream, Steam, and more.
Restream has produced a tutorial: How to Connect NewTek TriCaster® to Restream.io
The setup is demonstrated with images from the TriCaster® Advanced Edition (AE) UI, and applies to all TriCaster systems running the latest version of AE. The same controls and steps are available in the latest versions of software for NewTek VMC1.
